Ayurveda: Finding your Zone

Finding Your Zone:
A Lifestyle Overhaul using Ancient Wisdom and Modern Science

Are you in a winter funk? Ever feel out-of-balance or so stressed out and overwhelmed you just don't know what to do?
Has it ever occurred to you that self-care (taking time to nourish and nurture your body) will enhance your quality of life and improve your well-being?

Ayurveda, the science of self-healing, will teach you about your natural tendencies, how to tune into what your body needs, and how those needs change throughout the seasons of the year and various times of life.  Anna Russ will lead us through a two-hour workshop with a basic Ayurveda overview on the following topics:
  • Passion = Purpose
  • Focusing on You!
  • Nutrition for the mind, body and soul
  • Taking your fitness to the next level
  • Stress management tools for work and home

This workshop lasts two hours and costs $20 for CFM members and $30 for guests.

ABOUT ANNA:
Anna brings nearly twenty years experience of managing global, multi-million dollar clinical trials for new oncological drugs together with her lifelong passion for environment-mind-body-soul connection. As founder of PURE, Anna's mission focuses on holistic lifestyle education and training. By uniquely combining her expertise as clinical researcher, program manager and educator Anna is a leader in this emerging field.

Anna has had the honor of studying under Deepak Chopra and David Frawley, key thought leaders in the field of Ayurveda. She received her Ayurvedic certification through Sai Ayurvedic College and continued her training through Maharishi Ayurveda Wellness Program.

To offer a truly comprehensive lifestyle program she furthered her training with RYT-200 Yoga Teacher certification and advanced Health Fitness certification through American College of Sports Medicine.

As a clinical researcher, she managed trials for leading global biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Amgen and Genentech. This afforded her a unique insight into the science of treating disease. The pivot point came early on in her career when she began to observe significants gaps in the way allopathic medicine manages disease. This compelled her to explore other healing modalities that recognizes the significant role the mind-body connection plays in wellness. Ultimately this lead her to shifting focus and energy from treating disease to preventing it.

In 2011, she launched an exciting venture, PURE, where she brings the knowledge of modern science fused with ancient wisdom to educate individuals and organizations on how to improve their health, productivity and the most important health indicator, the joy in their life.

Anna is an Ironman competitor, volunteers on the Scientific Advisory Board for Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancers and in her down time loves hanging around on the front porch with her husband Ted and their dog Henry.
